Elmer Bodine was buried in Claquato Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Lewis County. Mary (Arends) Bodine was the daughter of Henry and Ruth (Kinder) Arends. Mary Arends Bodine married 2ndly, Maxwell C. Loomer (1922-2003). Although the following obituaries states Elmer was a native Lewis county resident, the censuses of 1920 and 1930 both report he was born in Nevada.

A native Lewis county resident, Elmer N. Bodine, 42, died suddenly Monday in a Chahalis hospital following a brief illness. He was born Sept. 17, 1917, at Adna and had lived the past several years in Centralia. Surviving are the widow, Mary K., at the family home at 615 South Pearl St.; seven sons, Larry, Michael, David, Jerry, Timothy, Randy and Ricky; six daughters, Linda, Mary Ruth, Patricia, Rita, Joan and Peggy, all at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Bodine, Klamath Falls, Ore., and a brother, Elvin Bodine, Anaheim, Calif. Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m., at the Stricklin Funeral home in Centralia. The Rev. Roger Gillerstrom will officiate and interment will be at Claquate.
