William Joseph Maesar, 26, single, of Billings, MT, born at Butte, MT, son of Carl & Mary (O'Leary) Maesar AND Dorothy May Bodine, 23, single, of Livingston, MT, born at St. Paul, MN, dau. of Alban & Anna (Gludt) Bodine, were married 8 March 1941 at Livingston, by Thomas Sheehy, Catholic Priest.

From the Montana Death Certificate of William J. Maesar: born 3 Aug 1914 in Butte, MT; died 29 Jan 1959 at Whitehall, Jefferson County, from death by drowning in the Jefferson River. Buried in Holy Cross Cemetery, Butte. Mrs. Dorothy Maesar, informant.

The body of William J. Maesar, about 44, Silver Bow, was found Friday beneath the ice of the Jefferson River some 12 miles east of Whitehall. Jefferson County Coroner Kyle Scotl said Mr. Maesar apparently plunged through the ice Thursday night while preparing to fish. The body was found by Highway Patrolman Glen Stevens and Deputy Sheriff Oscar Buhl of Whitehall near ice hole in the ice through which Mr. Maesar fell. The men were alerted by Mr. Maesar's wife, who became worried when he failed to return home. Coroner Scott said Mr. Maesar apparently went through the ice at about 7 p.m. Thursday while he was donning a pair of fishing boots. Scott said he plans no inquest. Mr. Maesar was a longtime resident of Butte and Silver Bow. He attended Butte Schools and was graduated from Boys Central High School. He was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Maesar and his wife, Dorothy, operated the Silver Bow Grocery Store at Silver Bow. Besides his wife, survivors include a daughter, Mary Ann, and sons, Dennis, Howard and Richard Maesar; mother, Mrs. Mary Maesar, all of Silver Bow; sister-in-law, Mrs. E. Dean O'Connor, Mitchell, Neb.; brothers-in-law, Howard A. and Richard A. Bodine, and mother-in-law, Mrs. Alban Bodine, all of Livingston, and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces in Montana and Nebraska. The body is in the Daly-Shea Mortuary from where the funeral will take place Monday at 9 o'clock proceeding to St. Patrick Church for requiem mass at 9:30. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.


2nd marriage--1962--WILLIAM R. JANSSEN.

William R. Janssen, 44, of Silver Bow, MT, divorced, born in Toston, MT, son of John & Minnie (Matthis) Janssen AND Dorothy B. Maesar, 45, widow, of Silver Bow, born in St. Paul, MN, dau. of Alban & Anne (Gludt) Bodine, were married 29 Dec 1962 in Butte, by Evan Thibodeau, J.P.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 for William R. Janssen, 54, of Silver Bow, who died Friday in a local hospital. The Rev. John S. W. Fargher will officiate at services in Dolan's Mortuary. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Mr. Janssen was an electrician for the Anaconda Co., working at the concentrator. He was born April 21, 1918, at Toston, and attended schools at Three Forks. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Silver Bow; stepsons, Dennis, Howard and Richard Maesar of Silver Bow; step-daughters, Mrs. Ralph Sletten Jr. of Butte and Wilma Maesar of Silver Bow; his mother, Mrs. Minnie Janssen of Portland; a brother, Walter E. Janssen of Los Angeles, and sisters, Mrs. Cora Judge of Portland and Mrs. Ella Hafner of Belgrade.

Dorothy B. Maesar Janssen passed away Thursday evening in a local nursing home. Her remains are in Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home where friends may call beginning Sunday afternoon at 5 o'clock. Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock in St. John's Episcopal Church. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Shrine Hospital for Children.
