George N. Bodine AND Iona R. Baker were married 28 March 1896 in Bloomingburg.

From New York Death Records:
Iona Bodine died 25 September 1897 in Napanoch, Ulster County.
George N. Bodine died 20 Oct 1930 in Bloomingburg, Sullivan County.

Obituary, Middletown (NY) Daily Press of Monday, 27 Sept 1897.
Iona Baker, wife of George Bodine, of Bloomingburgh, died Saturday at 6:30 a.m., at Napanoch, where her parents reside. Her age was 22. Three weeks last Thursday Mrs. Bodine had an eye removed at Thrall hospital in this city on which a tumor had developed. In her weakened condition other complications arose which culminated in Bright's disease. She leaves parents, two sisters and one brother. Irwin Baker, a brother, died nine months ago. The funeral was held in the Reformed Church, Bloomingburgh, this morning at 9:30.

In 1900, George Bodine was 28 and single, living with his parents in Mamakating, Sullivan County and working as a day laborer.


2nd marriage--1900--RACHEL GEE.

George Bodine AND Rachel Gee Smith were married 24 Oct 1900 in Bloomingburg. [Note: Rachel Gee 1st married Stephen D. Wright 3 Feb 1890 in Walden, Orange Co., and 2ndly, Thomas W. Smith 8 Oct 1892 in Hudson, Columbia Co., NY]

From Middletown (NY) Orange County Times of 26 Oct 1900.
George Bodine and Rachel Smith of Middletown, were united in marriage by Justice Elmer Pitts at his office in Bloomingburg, Wednesday, Oct. 24.

1910 Mamakating, Sullivan Co., NY: James A. BODINE 34 NY farmer single, Mary L. 59 NY mother widowed, George N. 37 NY brother widowed. mary had been married 43 years and bore 7 children of whom 5 were living.

In 1920, George Bodine, 48 and widowed, lived with his brother James in Mamakating, Sullivan County, working as a garden laborer. In 1930, George Bodine, 58 and single, lived alone in Bloomingburg, Sullivan County working at odd jobs.

In 1910 George reported he was widowed. There is no record of Rachel's death or remarriage in New York.

Bloomingburg - Funeral services for George Nelson Bodine, fifty-nine, who died Monday, will be held at two o'clock Friday afternoon in Van Inwegen's funeral home with burial in Bloomingburg cemetery. Mr. Bodine was born in Wurtsboro, May twenty-ninth, 1871, a son of Jesse and Mary Smith Bodine. He had lived in this village more than fifty years. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Myrta VanLeuvan of West New York, N.J., and an aunt, Mrs. Josephine Tarkett of Wurtsboro.
