FELTON - Doris K. DeLong of Felton died Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 66. Mrs. DeLong was born in Dover, daughter of the late Roy and Mamie Bodine. She worked as a floor lady for General Clothing in Smyrna. Mrs. DeLong enjoyed sewing in her spare time. She loved spending time with her family and friends and especially enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She never met a stranger, and was a friend to everybody. Her love and devotion to her family was unmatched and she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, William "Bill" DeLong Sr. of Felton; a son and a daughter-in-law, William M. Jr. and Wanda DeLong of Felton; two daughters and a son-in-law, Terri L. and Charles Deneumoustier of Dover and Robin DeLong and her companion Michael W. Carlisle of Felton; two brothers, Gary Bodine of Felton and Gilbert Graves of Wyoming; three sisters, Margaret Faulkner, who was her twin, and Gloria Carey, both of Magnolia, and Sylvia Lawson of Salisbury, Md.; six grandchildren, Karen, Renee, Tracy, Sarah, Erin, and Michael; and three great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Noah, and Lexus. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 S. DuPont Highway, Harrington, where friends may call one hour earlier. Pastor Bruce Tribbitt will officiate. Burial will be in the Hopkins Cemetery, Felton. Instead of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to The American Lung Association, 1021 Gilpin Ave., Suite 202 Wilmington, DE 19806-3280 or to the American Heart Association, 1151 Walker Road, Suite 202, Dover, DE 19904. William M. "Bill" DeLong Sr. of Felton, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2016, from the Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, he was 79. Mr. DeLong was born in Felton, DE to the late Ira and Pearl DeLong. Bill worked in an auto body shop before he went to work for Swift and Company. After leaving Swift, he went to work for the State of Delaware in the Lake Forest School District where he retired from. In his younger days, Bill was an avid fisherman and loved to surf fish. He loved to watch sports and NASCAR on television, and enjoyed reading his daily newspaper. Saturday nights were spent with family and friends at the Harrington Moose Lodge, enjoying each others company. Bill loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and enjoyed family dinners. Bill will be remembered as a hard working family man. He was loving and caring and a great husband and father. He was the true matriarch of the family and the backbone that held the family together. His strong will and friendly personality will forever be missed. Bill was a member of the Harrington Moose Lodge #534, life member of the Felton Fire Company, and also served for many years on the Felton Town Council. Bill is preceded in death by his brothers, Robert DeLong Sr., Richard DeLong; sister, Doris Hastings; and a son in law, Charles Deneumoustier. He is survived by his son, William M. (Wanda) DeLong Jr. of Felton; daughters, Terri L. Deneumoustier of Dover, Robin DeLong and her companion, Michael Carlisle of Felton; sister, Arlene Williams of Harrington; and his longtime companion, Elizabeth "Betty" Sapp of Felton; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren. Funeral services will take place at Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 12:00 PM. A visitation for family and friends will take place one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Hopkins Cemetery, Felton. Arrangements are by the Thomas E.
