Notes for: Earl Herman Bodine

From Ronny Bodine:

In 1900, Earl Bodine and his wife Stella lived with his mother in Hillsdale, Hillsdale County, Michigan where he worked as a house painter. He reported he and Stella had been married 5 years, but had no children. Earl Herman Bodine registered for the World War I draft on 12 Sept 1918 in Los Angeles. He reported he was an unemployed painter and his next of kin was Stella E. Bodine. In 1920, he lived in Los Angeles and worked as a paper hanger, reporting he was married and in 1930 still lived in Los Angeles but was now widowed. But was remarried to Martha by April 1940 when they lived in Pasadena, Los Angeles County. Stella was the daughter of John W. and Hannah Willis (Nearing) Foughty.

From Indiana Death Certificate of Stella E. Bodine, wife of Earl H. Bodine, born 28 Jan 1869 in Indiana, dau. of John W. & Hannah (Ady) Foughty, died15 July 1928 in Fort Wayne, Allen County and was buried in Hillsdale, Michigan. Informant was Earl H. Bodine of Battle Creek, Michigan. [Stella was aged 2 in 1870 and 12 in 1880 so 1868 seems to be the better choice over 1869.]
