Robert S. Bodine AND Rosemarie Kuehl were married September 1953 in Belleville, Essex County.
Elizabeth (Union Co.), New Jersey city directories list Robert S. Bodine as a student in 1947, a serviceman in 1949 and in the US Navy in 1951. VA records show Robert Bodine served in the US Navy from May 1945 to July 1946 and from March to July 1951. The Elizabeth city directory of 1959 lists Robert S. Bodine with wife Rosemarie for the first time. Rosemarie is named in the Star-Ledger (Newark, NJ) newspaper obituary of 13 Aug 2002 of her mother, Mary Ellenback Kuehl of Woodbridge (Middlesex Co.), NJ, widow of John E. Kuehl, which names among her survivors daughter Rosemarie K. Bodine.

Robert Samuel Bodine applied for a SSN in May 1943 and reported he was born 21 July 1927 in Elizabeth, NJ, son of Samuel H. & Ruth (Nicholson) Bodine. He died July 1991. His last residence was South Plainfield, Middlesex County, New Jersey.

South Plainfield---Robert S. Bodine, 63, died yesterday (July 13, 1991) at his home. Mr. Bodine was born in Elizabeth. He lived in Roselle Park before moving to South Plainfield 26 years ago. For the past 18 years, he worked in the maintenance department of Merck & Co. of Rahway. He previously was a chemical operator by the GAF Corp. of Linden for 10 years, and also was a chemical supervisor at Exxon Bayway Refinery in Linden for eight years. Mr. Bodine was a member of the Oil, Chemical & Atomic Workers International Union, Local 8-575 of Rahway. He served in the Navy's air-sea rescue service in the Atlantic in World War II. Surviving are his wife, Rosemarie K. Kuehl Bodine; two daughters, Patricia B. Rago of Ginette and Elizabeth B. McMullen of Rochester, N.Y.; a sister, Doris B. Wilson of Danbury, Conn.; and a grandson. Services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the McCriskin Home for Funerals in South Plainfield. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Rosemarie Claire Bodine (nee Kuehl) of Warren, NJ passed away peacefully in her sleep at The Center for Hope Hospice on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at the age of 89. Rosemarie was born on June 17, 1932, in Newark, NJ to Marie (nee Ellenbach) and John Kuehl. She was raised in Belleville, NJ. After her marriage to Robert Bodine in 1953, they lived in Roselle Park, So. Plainfield, Bedminster and finally in Warren, NJ. As her two daughters were growing up, Rosemarie served as Girl Scout Leader, Class Mother and a member of the School Board. After her girls were grown, she worked at Ecolab till her retirement in 1996 where she was employed as a Human Resources, Payroll Specialist at their location in Avenel, NJ. Rosemarie loved the country cottage we referred to as "Robbie's Nest" that she shared for a number of years with Bob located at the Swim and Sports Club in Flanders, N.J. where they enjoyed the company of friends and family. Before Bob's passing in 1991, the couple created many great memories traveling to Canada, Germany, Norway, Switzerland, Italy, Bermuda and Hawaii. Rosemarie's greatest love was for her family. She is survived by; her loving children and their spouses, Patricia Rago, Elizabeth and Robert McMullen; her cherished grandchildren, Mathew Rago his wife Jacqueline Rago, Christopher Rago, Erin McMullen and Taylor McMullen. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at the Paul Ippolito Berkeley Memorial, 646 Springfield Ave, Berkeley Heights, NJ on Friday, Dec 3rd from 9:00-10:30 AM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Peace Church, 111 South St., New Providence, NJ followed by the entombment at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia, NJ. Face coverings are required inside the funeral home and church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Rosemarie's memory to the American Cancer Society.
