On 12 July 1918, Edmund Bodine Jr. registered for the World War 1 draft in Manhattan. He reported he was born 26 July 1881, was married and worked as an inspector for the U.S. Ordnance Department. In 1920, Edmund Bodine lived in Manhattan, New York City, employed as an inspector with the IRS. Living with him was his widowed father and a widowed aunt, Nellie Stringer. In 1930, Edmund lived in Queens, New York City, still working as a Income Tax Revenue Agent.

BODINE--At Hollywood, Fla., on April 17, Edmund Bodine of 47-09 Douglaston Parkway, Douglaston, L.I., beloved husband of Alma E. and father of Mrs. Luke G. Lynch Jr., Ruth, Gwendolyn, Lieutenant Edmund J., Byron and Claire Bodine. Requiem Mass at St. Anastasia Roman Catholic Church, Northern Boulevard, Douglaston, L. I., Tuesday, April 22, at 10 A. M.

The funeral of Edmund Bodine will be held tomorrow morning from his home, 47-09 Douglaston parkway, Douglaston. A requiem mass will be offered at 11 A. M. at St. Anastasia's Church. Burial in Mount St. Mary's Cemetery will be directed by August Eickelberg. Mr. Bodine died Thursday in Hollywood, Fla. where he had gone to recuperate from an illness. He was 34 [sic]. For 30 years he was an Internal Revenue agent for the Treasury Department. He leaves his wife, Alma E., three daughters, Mrs. Luke G. Lynch Jr., Ruth Gwendolyn and Claire Bodine, and two sons, Lieutenant Edward Bodine, stationed at Fort McClellan, Alabama, and Byron, a New York State Trooper. [Note error: The final sentence should read four daughters as Ruth and Gwendolyn are two individuals.]
