The marriage of Miss Thelma Irene Bodine, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Bodine, Sr. of Maple Avenue, Long Valley, to Walter P. Boice, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter J. Boice, Hackettstown, took place May 9, 1943 in the Zion Lutheran Church, Long Valley, with Rev. William Heilman officiating.

Seneca-Walter Philip Boice, 94, husband of Thelma Irene Boice of 1215B S. Walnut Street, Seneca, South Carolina passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at his residence surrounded by family members. A native of Hackettstown, New Jersey, Mr. Boice was the son of the late Walter J. Boice and Queenie Boice of Hackettstown, New Jersey. A veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force, he served as a P47 pilot during WWII. He was a graduate of Liberty Bible College in Pensacola, Florida. He was also a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church in Seneca, South Carolina. In addition to his wife, Mr. Boice is survived by his sons Robert P. Boice (Janet) of Clayton, North Carolina and Donald A. Boice (Kathy) of Seneca, South Carolina; daughters Beverly L. McFarland of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania and Diane K. Pratt (Larry) of Minerva, New York; 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren. A memorial Service will be scheduled at a later date. Interment will be at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veteran's Cemetery, Anderson, South Carolina. Our family wishes to express appreciation for all the prayers and support shown to us.
