In 1910-1920, Charles and Sadie Bodine lived in Morristown where Charles still worked as a hardware salesman. In 1910, he reported that in 3 years of marriage his wife had borne 1 child which had died. On 9 Sept 1918, in Morristown, Charles Wesley Bodine registered for the World War I draft. He gave his birth date as 10 Sept 1898, but his age as 42, making his correct birth date as 10 Sept 1877. He worked as a hardware clerk for A. G. Phillips of Morristown and reported that his wife, Mrs. Sadie Bodine of Morristown, was his nearest kin. In 1930, the Bodine family still lived in Morristown, but now Charles was employed as the postmaster.

Charles W. Bodine, Company M, Second New Jersey Volunteer Infantry. Enlisted June 17, 1898; mustered out November 17, 1808. Bodine was detailed to accompany, as an escort, the remains of James E. Babcock to Morristown, New Jersey, for burial, and was one of the pall bearers at the funeral. Before the expiration of his leave of absence, which had been granted him because of impaired health, he was stricken with typhoid fever and confined several weeks in All Souls' Hospital, Morristown, New Jersey. Morristown---Charles W. Bodine of 178 Speedwell Ave. died yesterday afternoon (Feb. 16, 1961) in All Souls Hospital. He was 84. Mr. Bodine was a former alderman and postmaster of Morristown. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Frederick W. Budde of Fanwood.
