Carl V. Wyckoff, 79, of Port Murray, died Monday, Aug. 12, 2002, in Hackettstown Hospital in Hackettstown. Born: March 10, 1923, in Port Murray, the son of the late Walter A. Lida Vannatta. Personal: He and his wife, the former Bertha Bodine, celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary on August 12. He was an avid race fan and New York Yankee baseball fan. He enjoyed four wheeling on ATVs and snowmobiling. He was a self-employed dairy farmer and a bus driver for Mansfield Township Elementary and Warren Hills Middle Schools. Memberships: He was a member of the Anderson United Methodist Church, where he served as trustee and on the administrated council. He was a member of the Mansfield Seniors. He was also a member of the Wyckoff House and Association in Brooklyn, N.Y. Survivors: his wife; two daughters, Linda Stecker of Lower Mount Bethel Township and Nancy Holbrook of Forks Township; a brother, John W. of Gettysburg, Pa.; a sister, Edna Robinson of Lopatcong Township; and three grandchildren. Services: 1 p.m. in the church, Route 57, Port Murray. Call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in DeVoe Funeral Service, 136 W. Washington Ave., Washington and Friday noon to time of services in the church. Burial in Union Cemetery in Hackettstown. Memorials: to the church, P.O. Box 152 Port Murray, NJ 07865.

Bertha H. Wyckoff, 86, of Port Murray, NJ passed away Friday, October 19, 2012 at home. Born: Bertha was born September 17, 1926 in Broadway, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Alice and Charles Fletcher Bodine. Personal: She was the loving and devoted wife of Carl V. Wyckoff for 46 years until his passing on their wedding anniversary on August 12, 2002. Bertha was a 1945 graduate of Hampton High School and was active in the Alumni Association. After graduation, she worked at the Washington Hosiery, and later in years she worked for the Mansfield Twp. Elementary School. She worked for the Warren County Board of Elections at Mansfield for forty years until 2010. Bertha was a loving mother, grandmother and sister who loved living life to the fullest and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. With her husband they enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe as well as their annual trips to Florida in the spring. She spent endless hours watching the New York Yankees, gardening, canning, cooking, and sewing. Memberships: She was a dedicated and active member of the Anderson United Methodist Church. She served on the Administrative Board at the church, was an officer for the United Methodist Women, and participated in the Anderson Quilters Group. Earlier in life she was a member of the Anderson Mothers' Club. Survivors: She is survived by two loving daughters, Linda A. Stecker and her husband, Howard of Lower Mount Bethel, PA and Nancy C. Holbrook and her companion, Ronald Wilson of Great Meadows, NJ; three grandchildren, Gregory Stecker of Arlington, VA, Trisha Stecker of Hoboken, NJ, and Ryan Holbrook of San Diego, CA; two sisters, Betty Hazen and her husband, Phil of Hackettstown, NJ and Anna May of Belvidere, NJ; a brother-in-law, John Wyckoff and his wife, Peg of Hanover, PA; and many loving nieces and nephews. Services: Visitation on Monday, October 22 4 to 8 p.m. in the DeVoe Funeral Service 136 West Washington Ave Washington NJ. An additional viewing hour Tuesday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Anderson United Methodist Church, Rte 57 Port Murray NJ, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at the Union Cemetery Hackettstown, NJ. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Anderson United Methodist Church, PO Box 56, Port Murray, NJ 07865 in Bertha's name. The DeVoe Funeral Service in Washington, NJ has been entrusted with her arrangements.
