Donald E. Bodine, 74, of Washington, NJ, died Wednesday, July 11, 2007 in Easton Hospital. Born: On October 8, 1932 in Washington, he was a son of the late Russell and Margaret Vannatta Bodine. Personal: He and his wife, the former Edna M. Bigley, were married for 54 years. Donald was a 1950 graduate of Washington High School. In his early years, he worked as a farmer and a brick yard laborer and then was employed by M&M Mars Company. He then became a distributor of dairy products for Port Murray Dairy and Johanna Farms. He was the owner of a local service station, Bodine 's Arco during the 1970's. He then worked for the Warren Hills School system as a lead custodian, retiring after 20 years of service in 1997. He also worked part-time for the Oxford Hillside Cemetery and Advanced Auto Parts, up until the time of his death. Don was a midget baseball and wrestling coach in Washington Borough. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and watching his children and grandchildren play sports. He liked country music and singing while playing his guitar. He enjoyed spending his time with his family and friends. He maintained his sense of humor until the very end. Memberships: He was a member of the Washington Elks. Survivors: In addition to his beloved wife, Edna, he is survived by two sons, Ronald and his wife Penny and Thomas and his wife Debra, all of Mt. Bethel, Pa; a daughter, Donna Parenti and her husband Alfred of Alpha, NJ; two sisters, Betty Pulsinelli and Joan Trevarrow; a brother, Richard, and five grandchildren, Lauren and Brad Bodine, Elizabeth and Meredith Bodine, and Bryce Parenti. A brother, Carl Parr, a sister, Ellen Coleman, both died earlier. Services: Friends may call on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. in the DeVoe Funeral Services Inc., 136 West Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be Monday in the Port Murray Cemetery, Port Murray, NJ.
