1st marriage--1917--ADA APGAR.

Mrs. Benjamin Apgar, and Russell M. Bodine, both of Port Murray, were married on Tuesday evening at the Port Murray Baptist parsonage by the pastor, Rev. William W. Hoagland. The bride was attended by Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Sigler. They will spend a short time in Scranton and will then reside in Port Murray.

PORT MURRAY. Ada Apgar and Russell Bodine were married at the Baptist parsonage last week. They will make their home for the present with the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Benj. Apgar.
Russell Bodine registered for the World War I draft on 5 June 1917 in Warren County. He reported he was married and worked as a farmer. In 1920, Russell and Ada Bodine lived in Mansfield, Warren County in the home of Ada's parents, Benjamin H. and Jennie (Trimmer) Apgar. In April 1930, Russell and Margaret (his 2nd wife) lived in Washington Township, Warren County where Russell engaged in farming. In 1942, as Russell Martenis Bodine, of Washington, Warren County, he registered for the World War II draft. He named Ben Bodine of Phillipsburg as his next of kin.
In 1930, Ellen, age 7 and Carl, age 5, were living with Russell and Margaret Bodine and appear to be their children, but are faintly noted with the name Parr. However, they were children of Margaret's 1st marriage to Bertzell Parr. Ellen was born 11 April 1923 and died in Feb 1983. Carl D. Parr was born 30 March 1925 in Belvidere and died 25 Dec 1998. The Express-Times (Easton, Pa.) of 29 Dec 1998 published his obituary in which were named his parents and siblings, the children of his mother's marriage to Russell Bodine: Donald Bodine of Washington, Richard Bodine of White Township, Betty Pulsinelli of Washington and Joan Trevorrow of East Strounds, Pa.

Services were held Tuesday afternoon in the De Voe Funeral Home, Washington, for Russell M. Bodine, 82, of Karrville Road, Oxford, who died Saturday morning in the Warren Hospital. Born in Franklin Township, he was a son of the late John and Laura Martines Bodine. Mr. Bodine was a retired farmer. He was of Methodist faith. Survivors include his widow, the former Margaret Vannatta; three daughters, Mrs. Ellen Coleman and Mrs John Groff, both of Washington R. D. 3. and Mrs. Betty Pulsinelli, Washington, R. D. 1; three sons, Carl Parr, Washington R. D. 3; Richard Bodine, Washington R. D. 4, and Donald Bodine, Washington; a brother, Benjamin of Phillipsburg, and 19 grandchildren. Interment was in the Port Murray Cemetery.

Mrs. Margaret E. Osmun, 77, of Oxford R.1, N.J., died Friday in Warren Hospital. She was the wife of Amos Osmun and the widow of Russell M. Bodine and Bertsell Parr. Born in Belvidere, N.J., she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Ella (DeRemer) Vanatta. Surviving with her husband are three sons, Carl Parr of Port Colden, N.J.; Donald Bodine and Richard Bodine, both of Washington, N.J.; three daughters, Mrs. Ellen Coleman of Butler Park, N.J., Mrs. Betty Pulsinelli and Mrs. Joan Groff, both of Washington R.1; a sister, Mrs. Bernice Hixon of Bridgeville, N.J., and 20 grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the DeVoe Funeral Home, 136 W. Washington St., Washington. Calling hours will be Sunday evening.
