Mrs. Peter V. Drake announces the marriage of her daughter, Bessie Bodine, to August Hohmann, of Princeton, N.J. on Sept. 7, 1918.
In 1930, August Hohmann lived with his family in Hopewell, Mercer County where he worked as a bookkeeper for a dairy farm. In 1940, he lived in Pennington, Mercer County. In 1942, August Hohmann registered for the World War II draft as a resident of Rutherford, Bergen County, New Jersey. He named Elizabeth Bodine as his next of kin. The 1957 Rutherford, [Bergen County] New Jersey City Directory lists August and Elizabeth Hohmann as residents. August was employed as a salesman.

Rutherford---August A. Hohmann, 65, of 39 West Pierrepont Avenue, died in his home last night after a long illness. Born in Brooklyn, he had lived here 15 years, moving from Lyndhurst. He was a sales engineer with the Seely Instrument Company, Inc., of Niagara Falls. He had been with the firm 20 years. Surviving are his wife, the former Elizabeth Bodine; three sons, Albert, of Groves, Tex.; August B., of Totenville, S.I., and Sgt. Robert, with the Army in Nuremberg, Germany; three daughters, Mrs. William (Mary) Smith, of Clifton; Mrs. Dorothy Sheehan, of Milltown, and Mrs. Everett (Marjorie) Austin, of Boody, Ill.; 22 grandchildren; a brother, J. Tansley Hohmann, of West Hartford, Conn., and a sister, Miss Agnes E. Hohmann, of New Rochelle, N.Y.

Rutherford---Mrs. Elizabeth Bodine Hohmann, 65, of 39 W. Pierrepont Ave., died at American Legion Hospital, Newark, this morning after a brief illness. Born in Trenton, Mrs. Hohmann lived in this borough for 21 years, prior to which she resided in Lyndhurst. Her husband, August A., died in 1957. She is survived by three sons, Albert, of Henderson, Ky., August B., of Staten Island, N.Y., and Robert of Laurel, Md.; three daughters, Mrs. William (Mary) Smith, of Clifton; Mrs. Frank (Dorothy) Sheehan, of Milltown, and Mrs. Everett (Marjorie) Austin, of Blue Mount, Ill.; 25 grandchildren, and one brother, William Bodine of Hopewell. Services will be on Saturday.
