On 5 June 1917 in Trenton, Mercer County, he registered for the World War I draft. The wedding of William Snook Bodine to Miss Florence Edna Vansant, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Vansant, was held at the home of the bride's parents in Hopewell and was reported in The Hopewell Herald of 7 Oct 1925. William Bodine lived 1930 in Hopewell, Mercer County where he worked as an electrician. In 1942, He registered for the World War II draft as a resident of Hopewell, Mercer County and reported Mrs. Florence Vansant Bodine as his next of kin.

MOUNT LAUREL--A memorial service for William S. Bodine, 83, of 34 E. Daisy Lane, who formerly lived in Hopewell, will be Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Hopewell. The Rev. Robert Beringer, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Mr. Bodine died Friday in Burlington County Memorial Hospital, Mount Holly. He was an electrician for General Motors Turnstead Division before he retired 15 years ago. He was born in Trenton, was an elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Hopewell and a member of Hopewell Lodge No. 155 F&AM. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Florence Van Sant Bodine; a son, William R. Bodine of Medford; and three grandchildren. Contributions may be made to Burlington County Memorial Hospital Cancer Treatment Center, Mount Holly. Arrangements are under the direction of the Cronwell Memorial Home, Hopewell.

BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP -- Florence Vansant Bodine, 93, died Saturday at Memorial Hospital of Burlington County. Born in Langhorne, Pa., Mrs. Bodine lived in Hopewell and Pennington before moving to the Masonic Home in Burlington Township more than 11 years ago. She was editor emeritus of the Hopewell Valley News. She belonged to Hopewell Presbyterian Church and was past matron and past district deputy of the Order of the Eastern Star. Wife of the late William S. Bodine, she is survived by a son, William R. Bodine of Mooresville, N.C.; a sister, Claire V. Strong of Winter Haven, Fla.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Masonic Home Chapel, Burlington Township. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Home of New Jersey, 902 Jacksonville Road, Burlington, N.J. 08016. Arrangements are by Peppler Funeral Home, Bordentown.
