In 1910, Essie M. Bodine, age 23 and single, lived with her parents and worked as a milliner. In 1920, she and her husband and children lived with her parents in Delaware Township where Edward worked as a rural mail carrier. In 1930, the couple still lived in Delaware Township where Edward now worked as a truck driver for a seed mill.

ROSEMONT---Mrs. Essie M. Keown, 66, wife of Edward Keown of this place, died today in Abington Hospital after a long illness. She was a lifelong resident of Hunterdon County. Other survivors are a son, Frank of Rosemont; a daughter, Mrs. Marion Thornton of Stockton; two brothers, Samuel R. Bodine of Lambertville and Howard W. Bodine of Marlboro, and a grandson. Private funeral services will be held Thursday at the Holcombe Funeral Home, Main Street, Flemington. The Rev. Harold Dorrell of Lambertville will officiate. Interment will be in Rosemont Cemetery. Friends may call tomorrow evening.

ROSEMONT--Edward S. Keown, 87, organizer and former president of the Rosemont Water Company and since 1944 operator of the Rosemont Store, died Monday at his home. Mr. Keown also was a former Delaware Township clerk and tax collector, having held the two posts successively over a period of more than 20 years. A retired farmer, he was born in Center Bridge, Pa., and resided in Delaware Township most of his life. He was a member and senior deacon of the Berean Baptist Church of Stockton. Husband of the late Essie Bodine Keown, he is survived by a son, Frank Keown of Rosemont; a daughter, Mrs. Marion K. Thornton of Stockton, and a grandson. Private funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington. The Rev. James Flanagan of the Berean Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Berean Baptist Church, Stockton.
