Helene E. Bodine nee-Graham, 92, a longtime resident of Warren County, NJ and a graduate of Washington High School Class of 1934, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2009 at Warren Hospital, Phillipsburg. Born: Helene was born December 14, 1916 in Phillipsburg, a daughter of the late David J. and the late Flora Hoff Graham. Personal: Helene was an avid book reader, crossword puzzle solver and scrabble and pinochle player. She was an outstanding woman, who raised four young children while working, after the accidental death of her husband Marvin F. Bodine. She retired from Consumer Research of Washington, NJ in 1979. Memberships: She was a member of the Moose Lodge 512, Washington NJ and attended Asbury Methodist Church. Survivors: Helene is survived by one sister Dorothy E. Johncock of Hastings, MI; two daughters Helene D. Hart of Hackettstown, and Dorothy M. Bodine of Washington; two sons, Franklyn Duane of Ontario, NY and Daniel G. of Coal City IL; eight grandsons and one granddaughter, Jacquelyn M. Rosario; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents she is predeceased by her two brothers, David Graham and Gerald Carpenter and one sister Beverly Benka. Services: Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at DeVoe Funeral Service, Inc., 136 W. Washington Ave., Washington, NJ. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Asbury Methodist Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.devoefuneral.com.
