Gloria Ann Bodine Hoesche, born in 1925 in Glendale, CA and Gig Harbor resident since February 16, 1984, died March 2, 2001. Gloria attended Redlands University as a music major. She was loving mother and wife, and a friend to those who needed a friend. She loved quilting, collecting recipes, and camping with friends and family. Gloria was an active member of Turning Point Community Church where she served as church secretary for ten years. She was an avid student of the Bible and participated in Bible Study Fellowship for eight years. She leaves a legacy of faith in Jesus Christ, our only hope for salvation and reconciliation with the Holy Father, with her family, including husband, Edward G. Hoesche; children of David Haakenson, Sandra Hooper, Eric Haakenson, and spouses; stepdaughter Shirley Crisp; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Memorial services 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 6 at Turning Point Community Church, Gig Harbor. Inurnment at Haven of Rest Memorial Park. EDWARD CHARLES HAAKENSON, 77, died Sunday of pneumonia at Life Care Center of Corona. Born in Madison, Wis., Mr. Haakenson lived in Corona 70 years. He was a draftsman for American Can Co. in Vernon for 30 years before he retired in 1979. He graduated from Corona High School. Mr. Haakenson is survived by two sons, David of Gold River and Eric of Chino; a daughter, Sandra Hooper of Washington; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Corona Sunnyslope Cemetery. Thomas Miller Mortuary in Corona is handling arrangements.
