Fishing--a pastime that figured yesterday in their deaths--had been a sport they shared nearly all of their lives by Rollo F. Bacon, 75, and George O. Bodine, 70, both of Auburn. Pierce County deputy sheriffs said the victims' aluminum outboard motor boat capsized about 8:30 o'clock in the morning in Lake Kapowsin, south of Orting, Pierce County, as one of the men reached over the side of the ten-foot craft. Witnesses said Bodine hung on to the boat but died apparently of a heart attack as other fishermen went to his aid. Bacon apparently was drowned, officials said. Neither was wearing a life preserver. [5 paragraphs dealing with the friendship of the men and Mr. Rollo are omitted.] BODINE, born in Sprague, Lincoln County, moved to Auburn in 1908. He was an equipment dispatcher for the road district 18 years. He was a member of Auburn Aerie No. 2298, Eagles. Survivors include his wife, Marie; a daughter, Mrs. Gerry Query, Auburn; three brothers, Arthur, Elsinore, Calif., Roy, Auburn, and Max Bodine, Bonney Lake, Pierce County, and three sisters, Mrs. Thomas Turley, Auburn, Mrs. Myrtle Kirsch, Everett, and Mrs. Robert Tams, Kent. Services for Bodine will be at 2 o'clock tomorrow in the Lightle Chapel, Auburn. Burial will be in Auburn cemetery.
