In 1900, John Bodine lived with his family in Union Township, Whitman County, Washington. He reported that he had immigrated in 1885, was naturalized and that in 10 years of marriage his wife had borne 4 children of whom 3 were then living. In 1910-1920, he was John Bodin, a farmer, living in Valley Precinct of King County, Washington. In 1910, he now reported that his wife had borne 6 children of whom 5 were then living. In 1920, he worked as a carpenter for a milk condensing business. His death was recorded by the state of Washington as John Bodin. His father was named as Olaf Bodin. Magnhild 'Maggie' Bodine was the daughter of Ole and Martina (Torersen) Nelson. In 1930, Maggie Bodin, now widowed, lived in Valley Precinct with three of her children.

Funeral services for Mrs. Magnhild Nelson Bodine, 85, an Auburn resident 50 years, will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday in the Lightie chapel, Auburn. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Auburn. Mrs. Bodine died Thursday after a sudden illness. She was the widow of John Bodine. He died in 1925. Mrs. Bodine was born in Oslo, Norway. She came to this country as a child. She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Auburn and the Golden Age Club. Surviving are four sons, George O. and Roy H. Bodine, both of Auburn, Max R. Bodine, Bonney Lake, Pierce County and Arthur Bodine, Elsinore, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Marie V. Turley, Auburn, Mrs. Myrtle L. Kirsch, Everett, and Mrs. Isabell D. Tam, Kent; two sisters, Mrs. Theo Burr, Seattle, and Mrs. Nanda Nordine Kent; a brother, Louis Nelson, Tacoma; 11 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
