Miss Edna Marie Giddings, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edd Giddings of R. R. 6, became the bride of James Edward Bodine, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Bodine of Berlin. The double ring ceremony was held Sunday in the Christian Church of Berlin. Phil Bodine, brother of the bridegroom served as best man.
James Bodine was buried in Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, Sangamon County, Illinois. James and Edie Bodine were divorced and Edie married 2ndly, Richard Weston Beall (1934-2004). Barbara (Dilley) Bodine is the daughter of Bruce Leroy and Waneta F. (Burris) Dilley.

BERLIN---Jim Bodine, 68, of Berlin died Monday, Oct. 15, 2007. Jim was born Sept. 21, 1939, in Berlin, the son of Earl and Beulah Baker Bodine, who preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandy Bodine; a son, James Bodine; and two brothers, Carl and Charles. He married Barbara Dilley on Jan. 15, 1966. He graduated from New Berlin High School in 1957. He retired from the state of Illinois in 2002. Surviving are his wife, Barb; three daughters, Cari (Brian) Partridge, Teri (Patrick Dowling) Parker and Cindy (William) Mueller; a daughter-in-law, Lydia Bodine; two sisters, Mary (Jim) Kuntz and Joyce (Bill) Corgan; a sister-in-law, Jeanenne Bodine; three brothers, Glen (Marlene) Bodine, Robert (Elizabeth) Bodine and Phillip (Betty) Bodine; and several aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins. The family welcomes friends to visit from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007, at McCullough-Delaney and Butler Funeral Home, 714 E. Gibson St., in New Berlin. Funeral ceremonies will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2007, at Berlin Christian Church, 113 E. First St., with Warren Brosi officiating. Burial will follow in Berlin Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Berlin Christian Church Building Fund "Building on God's Plan," 113 E. First St., Berlin, IL 62670.
