William O. Bodine, 73, of Owego, N.Y., died Thursday at home. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Cramer Bodine. Born in Clarks Green on Nov. 21, 1935, son of the late William and Marion Cooley Bodine, Bill retired from IBM Owego as a logistics staff engineer after 37 years of service. He was also in the Army Reserve. In retirement, he enjoyed assignments with Marinette Marine Coast Guard, Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. and Boeing Helicopter. Bill was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and was chairman of the board of trustees and the building committee. He also served as a Sunday school teacher and chaired the Fellowship Center Building Project. Bill also was a member of the Upstate New York District Advisory Board and board of properties. Bill went home to be with his Lord surrounded by his loving family. Also surviving are a son, Chris Bodine, Owego; a daughter, Dr. Jan and husband, Andrew Soucier, Fairport, N.Y.; three sisters, Shirley and husband, Donald Haas, Allentown; Charlotte and husband, Richard Stokes, Allentown; and Dawn and husband, Robert Sickler, Tunkhannock; three sisters-in-law, Shirley Atkinson Bodine, Grace Braisted Bodine and Nancy Mortimer Cramer; a brother-in-law, Mark Cramer; 16 nieces and nephews, their spouses and children. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, John and David Bodine; and a brother-in-law, Paul Cramer. The funeral service and celebration of his life will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the First Church of the Nazarene, Route 17 C West, Owego, with the Rev. Dr. Dennis King, officiating. Interment will be at a later date. The family will receive friends Sunday, 6 to 8 p.m. at Richards Funeral Home, Route 17 C West, Owego.
