Harry Bodine, 21, of Monroe, Michigan, born in Maybee, Michigan, son of Charles Bodine & Lucille Yost AND Betty Wain, 18, of Monroe, born in Temperance, Michigan, da. of Arthur Wain & Ina Bird, were married 22 April 1950 in Maybee.
Betty (Wain) Bodine is the daughter of Arthur and Ina (Bird) Wain.

Harry A. Bodine, 57, of 8802 Ida-Maybee Rd. died at 12:28 p.m. Sunday in Herrick Memorial Hospital, Tecumseh. He had been in the hospital eight days. Death was caused by complications of hip surgery. Friends may call after 7 tonight in the Liedel Funeral Home, Maybee. He will lie in state Wednesday in Maybee Congregational Church from 10 a.m. until services at 11. The Rev. Don A. Brown will officiate and burial will be in North Side Cemetery, Maybee. Born Dec. 20, 1928, in Maybee, he was the son of Ben C. and Lucille (Yost) Bodine. He was married April 22, 1950, to Betty Wain in the Maybee Congregational Church. He had been employed as a machine operator by Tecumseh Products for several years. Mr. Bodine attended Maybee Public Schools and was a 1946 graduate of Dundee High School. He was a lifetime member and trustee of the Maybee church, where he served as superintendent for 25 years, served on the adult advisory board for several years and also served as song leader. He is survived by his wife; four sons, Ronald of Dundee, Ben of Flat Rock, Daniel of Royal Oak and Jeffery of Monroe; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Vickie) Kidd of Monroe and Jan Bodine at home; a brother, Lowell B. of Monroe, and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lennon. Memorials may be made to the Maybee Congregational Church.

Betty J. Bodine, age 92 of Monroe, passed away January 5, 2024.
Born August 17, 1931 in Temperance, Betty was the daughter of Arthur and Ina (Bird) Wain. A 1948 graduate of Dundee High School, she married the love of her life, Harry Bodine, April 22, 1950. Sadly he preceded her in death December 7, 1986. A dedicated homemaker, Betty also had worked for the Monroe County ASCS and then for Raisinville Township, retiring in 2015. She was a member of the Exeter Township Historical Society and the Maybee Congregational Church, her faith and attending church was an important part of her life. Betty enjoyed baking and decorating cakes. She also enjoyed researching about her family history and stayed in close contact with family members in England. She was an avid collector, loved gospel music, enjoyed watching game shows and spending time on her iPad but her most treasured times were those spent with her family. Betty leaves to cherish her memory her children: Ron (Jane) Bodine, Vicki (Ron) Kidd, Dan (Kathy) Bodine and Jan (Dennis) Stasinski; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sons Ben Bodine, Jeff Bodine and 8 siblings. A celebration of Betty's life has been planned under the care of the Martenson Family of Funeral Homes-Liedel Chapel; 9061 Raisin St, Maybee, Michigan. Friends may call Tuesday from 3pm until 8pm. Funeral services will be 11am Wednesday from the funeral home. Burial to follow with her husband at Northside Cemetery. Memorial contributions in honor of Betty may be made to the WLMB, Toledo's Christian TV Station.
