Marjorie Gertrude Bodine went to be with her Lord and Savior this past Friday. Our precious Mother passed away June 13th, 2025 at the St. Therese at IHM Senior Living Center, where she had resided for the last 6 years. "We would like to thank the Mcgivney Way staff for the loving and compassionate care they provided for our mom for all those years." Marge was born on April 14, 1927. One of four daughters from the union of Richard and Carrie (Hoffman) Millard. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1945. She started working at her Dads Tavern in Maybee at a young age and over the years she worked at Silver Star Bar and Sunset Bar. She was involved in Queens Way Fashions hosting home shows and modeling in their fashion shows. At the age of 49 Marge started working for the US Postal Service as a rural carrier retiring in 1995. Her first love was Harold Bodine. She surprisingly informed her parents she was moving to Texas with him to get married while he was in the Military. They married on August 17, 1946. Harold passed away on June 18, 1973. Marge was lucky to have Two Special men in her life. Around 1977 through mutual friends she met Lynn Newbre. She was a member of the Red Hats in Monroe and Florida as well as the Frenchtown and Carleton Senior Groups. Marge's love and compassion extended to all who knew her. She had an infectious smile and a witty personality. Besides Christmas with her family, she enjoyed dressing up for Halloween hoping she would not be recognized right away to win a prize. She traveled extensively with her Daughter-in-Law Linda (who was more like a daughter to her) and her granddaughter Dawn. Their favorite past-time was going to the Flea Markets on Sunday which resulted in a large doll collection. Marge also liked anything Shirley Temple. Family was everything to her, spending precious time with her Granddaughter Dawn and her son Chris and Darryl's four children whenever time allowed for them to spend time at her house.
