On 5 June 1917, Charles Ben Bodine registered for the World War I draft in Monroe County, Michigan. He stated he was single and engaged in farming. In 1942, as Charles Bennal Bodine, a resident of Exeter, Michigan, he registered for the World War II draft, reporting he was born 11 Feb 1894 in Raisinville, Monroe County, Michigan. Lucile (Yost) Bodine was the daughter of Henry and Katherine (Falhar) Yost.

MAYBEE--Ben C. Bodine, 59, of Ida-Maybe Rd, died at 6 this morning. He had been ill since last March 19. Born Feb. 11, 1894 in Raisinville Township, he was the son of Charles and Maria Bodine. Mr. Bodine married Lucille Yost Dec. 10, 1921. The Rev. Reuben Crosby of St. Paul's Methodist Church, Monroe, performed the ceremony in the rectory of the church. Mr. and Mrs. Bodine lived at Flat Rock for a year and then moved to the farm, where they have been living since that time. Mr. Bodine also worked at the Banas & Wrobel Lumber Co. before his illness. He is survived by his wife, three sons, Lowell and Lennon of Dundee and Harry Allen at home; three sisters, Dot and Grace Bodine and Mrs. Rose Kellie, all of Maybee; four brothers, Harry, Claude and Curtis, all of Maybee, and Jack of Scofield, and eight grandchildren. The body is in the Liedel funeral home where it will remain until 12:30 p.m. Saturday. It will be taken to the Maybee Congregational Church to lie in state until services at 2 p.m. The Rev. Jacob Turnbull will officiate. Burial will be in Northside Cemetery.

Mrs. Lucile Bodine, 66, of 9122 Ida-Maybee Rd. died at 3 a.m. yesterday in her home. She had been ill a month. Friends may call at the Liedel Funeral Home in Maybee until 11 a.m. tomorrow when the body will be taken to the Maybee Congregational Chirch to lie in state from12:30 until services at 2 p.m. The Rev. Clarence Burkhard will officiate and burial will be in Northside Cemetery in Maybee. The daughter of Henry and Kate York, she was born Feb. 15, 1898, in Maybee. She was married to Ben Bodine Dec. 10, 1921, in St. Paul's Methodist Church in Monroe. He died in January, 1954. A lifetime resident of Maybee, she was a member of the Maybee Congregational Church and its Ladies Aid Society. She also was a member of Raisinville Grange 410 and the Ladies Arbeiter Society of Maybee. Surviving are 3 sons, Lennon of Dundee, and Harry A. and Lowell B., both of Monroe; 2 sisters, Mrs. Augusta Kohler of Monroe and Mrs. Jessie Oliver of Maybee, and 17 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers.
