The marriage of Lawrence Bodine and Nora Maiken was reported in the Chronicle-Telegram (Elyria, Ohio) of 19 May 1939. The couple was to take up residence in Maumee, Lucas County, Ohio. The Mansfield News Journal of 8 Oct 1951 reported on a serious auto accident in which he, his wife Nora, and their four children were injured. Lawrence and Nora Bodine divorced and Nora later married Edward Lanning. Virginia (Randles) Bodine was the daughter of J. Holly and Adaline (McBride) Randles.

Nora E. Lanning, 85, of Dover, O., died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, in Aultman Hospital at Canton following a brief illness. She owned and operated the former Nora's Beauty Shop in her home in Dover for over 18 years. Born March 20, 1918, in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Elizabeth Wenger Maiken. Nora was a member of the First Moravian Church at Dover. She was also affiliated with the St. John's United Church of Christ at Dover. She was previously active in the Dover Moose Lodge and was a volunteer for Mobile Meals. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lanning, who died Nov. 27, 2001. She was also preceded in death by one son, William Bodine, and a brother, David Maiken. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Carol Kasserman of Navarre and Mrs. Larry (Laura) Colvin of Dover; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Ray (Sandra) McGinnis of Lorain, O.; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A service celebrating Nora's life will be held Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at 1 p.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Rev. Allen Bergmann officiating. At her request, cremation has taken place and inurnment will be held at a later date in the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens. There are no calling hours. Those unable to attend or who may wish to express a fond memory of Nora may sign the online register book by visiting the “obituaries” link on the funeral home's Web site. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Moravian Church, 319 N. Walnut St., Dover, O. 44622, or one's church or favorite charity.
