In 1910, Ward Bliss and his family lived in New Haven, Huron County where he worked as a fireman for a steam railroad. On 12 Sept 1918 in Huron County, Ward Bliss registered for the World War I draft. In 1920, the family lived in New London, Huron County where Ward now worked as a blacksmith.

Ward D. Bliss, 80, of 358 West Eagle St., Painesville, former Elyria resident, died at 8:45 a.m. yesterday in Lake County Memorial Hospital. Mr. Bliss was born in Steuben, O., June 3, 1879. He lived in Elyria about 20 years before moving to Painesville 15 years ago. In Elyria he was employed by the West Side Lumber Co. He leaves his wife, Margaret, a son, Laylin G. Bliss, Elyria; two daughters, Mrs. Howard (Nina) Indicott, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Mrs. Raymond (Ruth) Vietzen, Elyria, six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a brother, Charles Bliss, Elyria. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Johnson Funeral Home, Painesville. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
Children: Laylin G. (1905), Nina (1908), Ruth G. (1910).
