Carl Bodine registered 5 June 1917 for the World War I draft in Wayne County, New York. He stated he was born 10 March 1887 and was living with his wife, 2 children and father. Carl Bodine was living 1920 in Rochester, Monroe County, New York working as a laborer for a paving company and 1930 in Geneseo, Livingston County, New York engaged in farming. Ivy (Cuddeback) Bodine was the daughter of William and Adaline Cuddeback.

An Avon woman was killed instantly, her husband, daughter and grandson hospitalized when their car skidded on a patch of ice on Groveland-Lakeville road about 11:45 Thursday morning. Mrs. Carl Bodine, 58, Avon, a passenger in the front seat of the car being driven by her daughter, Mrs. Geraldine Barnhardt, 34, Pavilion, crashed through the windshield and died almost instantly, Livingston County Undersheriff George Richardson and Deputy Arthur Croston reported. Officers said Mrs. Barnhardt, accompanied by her parents and her two children, was driving south about two miles south of Rt. 20-A when she skidded on an icy patch and crashed between two trees on the left side of the highway. Mrs. Barnhardt and her father, Carl Bodine, 69, Avon, and her son, Joseph, 3, were taken to Warsaw hospital after emergency treatment by Dr. Kenneth Firman, Geneseo. Mrs. Barnhardt's daughter, Evelyn, 4, was not hospitalized. Beside those in the accident with her, Mrs. Bodine is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Austin Hasler, Geneseo; five sons, Earl W. of Avon, William and Carl of Conesus, Francis of Geneseo, and Donald of Tonawanda, Pa.; A brother, Benjamin Cuddeback, of Attica; two sisters, Mrs. Walter Crane, Conesus, and Mrs. Bruce McCleland, Rochester; 23 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held in the W. S. Rector and Sons Funeral Chapel at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon by Rev. Joseph Sunter, pastor emeritus of the Geneseo Presbyterian Church. Interment was in Mt. Morris cemetery.

CONESUS - Carl F. Bodine, 85, of East Lake Road, a lifelong resident of the Conesus area, died Wednesday (Oct. 11, 1972) at Livingston County Infirmary after a long illness. He had been a farmer. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Florence Hasler of Sebring. Fla.; three sons, Earl W. of Lakeville, Francis and Donald, both of Livonia; 28 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
