In 1880, Edson Bodine, age 25 and single, was living with his parents in Mount Morris, Livingston County, New York. In 1900, Edson Bodine was a prisoner at Auburn Prison, Auburn, Cayuga County, New York. His children were living with his father in Mount Morris. In 1920, he was living in the home of his son Carl Bodine in Rochester, Monroe County, New York. Likely it was his son who reported Edson's age as 70.

Letters of administration have been granted Carl F. Bodine of Gainesville on the estate of Edson M. Bodine, late of Gainesville. Mr. Bodine, who died on December 23, 1927, left an estate valued at 4500 real and $750 personal property. Heirs-at-law are three children, Carl F. Bodine of Gainesville, Fred M. Bodine of Rochester and Ella B. Williams of Avon.
