George Washington Hemphill registered for the World War I Draft on 12 Sept 1918 in Bradford, PA. He was born 22 Feb 1873 and named Felicia Hemphill as his next of kin.

The Hemphill family was living 1920 in Bradford, McKean County where George worked in an oil refinery. In April 1930, Felicia Hemphill, widowed, was still living in Bradford, McKean County. Her death was reported in the Bradford Era of 13 Nov 1959.

Funeral services in memory of George W. Hemphill who passed away Sunday morning at the Bradford Hospital following injuries which he received while working in the yards of the Emery Manufacturing Company Saturday will be held at the home, 312 East Main street, Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock. The survivors of the deceased are his wife, Felicia, a son, George, two daughters, Grendilyn and June, all of Bradford, one brother, J. Ross Hemphill, Titusville, and two sisters, Mrs. John Gilbride of Titusville and Mrs. W. J. Dunn of New York City.
