From Christian Intelligencer of the Reformed Dutch Church of 23 July 1857.
Married. On the 3rd of July, by Rev. W. Ingalls, Owasco, William E. Covert to Harriet F. Bodine, both of Niles.
On 3 June 1859, William E. Covert petitioned the Surrogate Court of Cayuga County to report the death of his wife, Harriet E. Covert, on 14 April 1859 and stated her heirs were himself as executor and her brothers and sisters, Abraham Bodine, Sally Ann Brokaw and Olive O. Bodine, all of Niles, Cayuga County. The will itself, dated 13 April 1859, the day before her death, names only her husband as executor and her sister, Mary Jane Selover. She does not mention any other heirs. The will was proved on 18 June 1859. [Cayuga Co. Wills, N: 69-72)

William E. Covert died 2 Jan 1920 in Niles, Cayuga County. [Note: The 1855 NY State Census showed William E. Covert, age 22, born in Cayuga County, living with his parents, Leonard and Dinah Covert, in Niles, Cayuga County.]
