Notes for: Leon Ray Bodine

He was in Colorado City preparing for his 54th school class reunion when he apparently died from a heart attack. He retired from Amoco Oil Company. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Easter Star, Veteran of Foreign Wars and served in WW II. I believe there is something about him in the book "Cemetery Records of Cass County, Texas" (v. 4, p. 252). His wife is also in there.

I got a message from Linda Kay (Bodine) Wooten in November of 2002 with some information on this family. She said that Luther Bodine, her father Morris Jack Bodine, Leon Ray Bodine, and Nila Pearl Bodine all grew up and died in the Colorado City, Texas area. These are all siblings.

From Ronny Bodine:

1st marriage--MAXINE MARIE MORRIS.
In Nov 1941 Leon Bodine enlisted in the Army Air Corps in El Paso. He stated at the time he was divorced and had no dependents. This must have been his marriage to Maxine Morris who bore their son three months later as noted next.

Birth records of Ector County, Texas name Ray Bodine and Maxine Marie Morris as parents of Dwight Earl Bodine, born 13 Feb 1942 in Ector County, Texas. Leon and Maxine Bodine divorced as Ector County, Texas Marriage Records reflect James T. Neal AND Maxine Marie Bodine were married 2 April 1942.
