Notes for: William ("Pat") Paschal Bodine

See the 1900 Census (TX?) for information on William P. Bodine.

From Ronny Bodine:

1st marriage--1911--MARGIE ANN HALE,
From Mitchell County, Texas Marriage Records
W. P. Bodine AND Margie A. Hale were married 24 Sept 1911 by H. P. Tijoa, M.G.

On 5 June 1917, William Paschil [sic] Bodine of Colorado, Texas registered for the World War I Draft. He reported he was born 14 Feb, 1889 [sic] in Hillsboro, Texas, engaged in farming, and was married with one child.

In 1920, the Bodine family was living in Mitchell County and in 1930-1940 in Midland County, where William engaged in farming. The "Abilene Daily Reporter" of 28 Dec 1936 reported an automobile accident on 27 Dec resulting in the subsequent amputation of Mrs. Bodine's arm. Her son, Alwin, gave blood for the transfusion.

From the Texas Death Certificate of Margia [sic] A. Bodine, housewife, married, born 30 June 1891 in Arkansas, dau. of P. C. & D. Hale; died 10 Oct 1942 in Midland, Midland County; buried in Colorado City Cemetery. W. P. Bodine of Midland, informant.

2nd marriage--1944--EULA ELIZABETH COLE.
From Dallas County, Texas Marriage Records:
Mr. W. P. Bodine AND Mrs. Eula Dabney were married 14 Oct 1944 by W. Z. Oliphant, Minister, Oak Cliff Church of Christ.

From Abilene Reporter News (Abilene, Texas) of 31 Oct 1944:
Mr. and Mrs. Paschal Bodine of Midland, Texas attended a Cole family reunion in Abilene. [This is evidence that Eula Elizabeth Cole, daughter of John David and Margaret (Millsap) Cole, and widow of James W. Nevil (1887-1914) and Hugh G. Dabney (1881-1934), living April 1940 in Parker County, Texas was the second wife of William Paschal "Pat" Bodine, as his 1st wife had died in 1942. This marriage must have ended in divorce as in 1953 Mrs. Eula E. Bodine was living alone in Dallas, Texas. The Dallas City Directory of 1955 lists her as Eula E. Bodine (wid. Pat), but Pat-Paschal Bodine was actually still living. She is listed as such again in 1958, but in 1960 and thereafter this designation was omitted. As neither Eula nor William are referred to in their respective obituaries this seems to confirm a divorce.]
