Gary Grant Kelson passed away April 21, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Darlean; 3 sons, Dale (Lusie), Mark (Sharon), and Kyle (Linda); 3 daughters, Chris (Gordy) Roberts, Renae West, and Darla (Sam) Cayias; brothers, Mont (Joyce) and Russell (Marion); sister, Mardee Redmond; 20 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Darryll and Margaret Kelson; brother, Dean; and sister, Irene Howie. Gary graduated from Cyprus High School in 1949. He served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany from 1951-1953. He worked at Kennecott Copper for 36 years and enjoyed being a machinist. Gary coached youth baseball and church softball. He enjoyed football, track and field, shooting and hunting. His hobbies were building and flying free flight planes, motors and engine designs. Our father has finished his time on earth and has been called back to his Heavenly Father, he was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, husband and father who loved life and cherished his time with family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him and will be remembered always in our hearts. The family would like to thank Assisted Living of Draper and Dignity Home Health Care for the care and kindness they gave Gary. Funeral services will be held 12 noon Friday, April 26, 2013 at Mountain Point 7th Ward, 420 E. Stokes Ave. (13580 S. Draper, UT). Friends and family may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 S., Magna, UT, and Friday 11-11:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park. Darlean Christensen Bodine Kelson January 5, 1934--January 27, 2022
Our dear sweet Mother died peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. She is survived by 3 sons, Dale (Luise), Mark (Sharon), Kyle (Linda); 3 daughters, Chris (Gordy) Roberts, Renae West and Darla (Sam) Cayias; brothers, J Dale (Linda) Christensen, and Bill Bodine; sister, Cheryl Spence; 22 Grandchildren and 33 Great Grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, Arlean (Mott) Farnsworth and Jens “Chris” Christensen; Gary Grant Kelson, husband of 60 years; sister, Kathleen (Jerry) Talbot; grandchildren, Brandon Kelson and Nicholas West. Darlean was a graduate of Cyprus High School and was proud all her children were as well. She had many jobs throughout her life, her most memorable were working with Dr. Clark D.D.S. as his receptionist, dental assistant and bookkeeper; substitute teacher for special needs children @ Hartvigsen Elementary and Waitressing @ Francesco's. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, ceramics and babysitting while having many church responsibilities such as Primary, Coordinator for Sunday School, Mutual and Scout Leader along with Song Leader. Her true passion was her oil painting, she was very talented. She was a confident for many friends and family and spent hours talking and listening to their problems and needs. She always had a smile and made all who knew her feel special and loved. She will hold a special spot in everyone's heart and will truly be missed. The family would like to sincerely thank all those who took care of her and loved her @ Bel Aire Senior Living in American Fork. A visitation from 11 a.m. to 12 noon and funeral services at 12 noon will be held Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. Magna Main St. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
