BODINE, James T., Sr. - Of Flint, age 73, died Tuesday, November 18, 2003 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral service will be held at 11AM Saturday, November 22, 2003 at Bristol Road Church of Christ, G-1315 West Bristol Road in Flint, Dr. Larry Williams officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Those desiring may make contributions to Valley Christian Academy. Visitation 5-8PM Thursday and 1-8PM Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Mr. Bodine will be at the church from 10AM Saturday until the time of the service. He was born in Flint, Michigan on May 29, 1930 and was a resident of Flint all of his life. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Jackie Sue Sellers on June 15, 1956 and was a loving husband for 47 years. Mr. Bodine was a devoted father to his children and an adored Paw Paw by his grandchildren. He was a faithful member of Bristol Road Church of Christ. Mr. Bodine was employed as Supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1989. Surviving are wife, Jackie; 2 sons, James, Jr. and wife Lory, Jeff and wife Cathy, all of Flint; 6 grandchildren, Sara, Kaitlyn, Emily, Amanda, Megan and Tyler Bodine; sister, Helen Allmond of Flint; brother, Robert and wife Virginia of California; many nieces, nephews and other extended family members. He was preceded in death by parents, Martin and Millie; brother, M.L. and brother-in-law, Sydney.
Jacqueline (Sellers) Bodine is the daughter of Porter R. and Lavada Sellers.
