His birth date was recorded in 1900 as Aug 1889, but when he registered for the World War I draft on 5 June 1917 in Holcomb, Dunklin County, he gave the date as 7 March 1888. He enlisted in the U.S. Army at Campbell, Missouri on 29 June 1917 and served overseas April 1918 to April 1919 with Company L, 6th Infantry, Missouri National Guard, 140th Infantry. In 1920, Martin Bodine lived with his mother in Holcomb Township and was employed as a house painter. In 1930, Martin Bodine was living with his family in Flint, Genesee County, Michigan where he worked as a machine operator in an automobile factory. Martin and Millie Bodine were buried in Gracelawn Cemetery, Flint, Genesee County.
