Notes for: Jacob Bodine, Jr.
From Ronny Bodine:
The death certificate of Jacob Bodine names his parents as Vincent Bodine and Sarah Jorolemon. Vincent Bodine died six months after his son was born and it appears that Jacob was raised by a relative, Jacob Bodine (1826-1909) and his wife, Harriet Emily, who had no children of their own. In 1880, 'Jacob Bodin Jur.' and his wife 'Idia,' were living next door to Ida's parents David and Mary Studley, in Northfield, Cook County, Illinois engaged in farming. In 1900, as Jacob Bodine, Jr., now widowed, he and his daughters 'Carry' age 18 and Harriet age 7, were living with his father in Evanston Township, Cook County, Illinois where he was employed as a coal agent. In 1910-1930, he was living with his 2nd wife in Evanston engaged in the coal shipping business. Jacob's 1st wife, Ida, was the daughter of Davis and Mary Hallet (Cromwell) Studley. His 2nd wife, Johanna, was the daughter of Phillip and Ann (Reynolds) Reiterman. According to Johanna Bodine's Minnesota death certificate she was cremated.
