William Bodine AND Miss Auly Haughwout, both of Staten Island, were married 19 Jan 1814 by P. I. Vanpelt, Minister.
His funeral was held on 15 Jan 1816 in St. Andrew's Protestant Episcopal Church, Richmond County, with burial in the Church of the Ascension Cemetery. On 3 Sept 1816 letters of administration were granted to his father, with William Blake and John Barnes as sureties (Richmond Co. Miscellaneous Records A: 185). Allette (or Aletta) Haughwout was the daughter of Peter and Mary Haughwout Sr., in whose will of 8 Nov 1815 she is named as the wife of William Bodine (proved 9 April 1816, Richmond Co. Wills B: 620). Aletta was bapt. 13 Oct 1788 at the Moravian Church. On 12 Oct 1816 (as Aletta Bodine) she remarried, to Daniel Vandle, at St. Andrew's Protestant Episcopal Church and was a resident of Castleton in 1860.
