Abijah's birthplace, Etra, was originally Scrabbletown aka Milford. The name was changed to Etra after 1890.

1st marriage--1865--MARGARET ANN PERRIN.
In 1850, she was Margaret Ann Perrine, 4, living with her parents, Enoch and Ann Perrine, in Millstone Twp., Monmouth County, New Jersey.

The announcement of the death Wednesday of Mrs. Maggie, wife of Abijah E. Bodine, so well known in the West Washington Market, New York, was heard with sad surprise. Mrs. Bodine was the daughter of the late Enoch Perrine, of Millstone, and was a most estimable woman.

Abijah E. Bodine, for 51 years an active commission merchant in New York city, died at his home, 37 Broadway, Freehold, on Monday, August 27, 1917, in his 78th year. Mr. Bodine was born October 4, 1839, at Etra, N.J. After having spent his younger days in his hometown, at an early age he entered the commission business at West Washington Market, New York city, making his home in Brooklyn. Mr. Bodine was twice married. Besides his widow, Mrs. Reba Miller Bodine, he is survived by two children by the former marriage. They are Miss Ida B. Bodine and Elmer E. Bodine. Little more than a year ago Mr. Bodine moved to the new house he had erected on Broadway and had since led a retired life. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. J. Ernest Merta of the Freehold Reformed churh, were held at his late home at 2 o'clock p.m. on Wednesday. Interment was made in Greenwood cemetery, Brooklyn, yesterday.

Abijah E. Bodine of Freehold died Monday of last week of appendicitis. Mr. Bodine was engaged in the produce business at Brooklyn about fifty years. He had lived at Freehold since retiring a year ago. A widow and two children survive him.

Abijah E. Bodine of Freehold made his will March 2, 1913. He bequeathed to his wife, Rebecca M. Bodine, $4,000 and any interest he might have in the homestead property at Etra, mahogany bedroom furniture and an upholstered rocking chair. A trust fund of -4,000 is devised to his executors to pay the nest income therefrom toward the support of his son, Elmer E. Bodine, and at his death this fund to become a part of the residuary estate. The balance of the estate is devised to his wife and his daughter, Ida B. Bodine, in equal shares. Mrs. Bodine and William J. Hutcheson of Brooklyn are named executors.

By Jan 1920, Rebecca Bodine, age 59, was now widowed and living in Freehold, Monmouth County. She was still living there in April 1930, aged 68. Abijah Bodine and his 2 wives were buried in Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, New York City.
