Seth Van Pelt was a merchant and postmaster for Pineville, Bucks County. For a biographical sketch of Seth C. Van Pelt see Battle, J. H.. "History of Bucks County, Pennsylvania : from the discovery of the Delaware to the present time," New York Chicago: Lewis Pub. Co., 1905, p. 103-104. She is Caroline age 9 in 1850 and 17 in 1860, and in 1870, is Carrie A. Bodine, age 26, living with her sister and brother-in-law, Annie and Edwin Knight in Upper Makefield Township, Bucks County. As Carrie Bodine, she is called the daughter of John R. Bodine and sister of General Robert L. Bodine in the biographical sketches of Seth Van Pelt.
