PURYEAR - James Claytus Stallings, 62, died of lung disease Thursday at Henry County Medical Center in Paris. Services wil be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ridgeway Morticians in Paris with burial in Olive Branch Cemetery in Cottage Grove. He was a Mason and a member of North Fork Baptist Church. Mr. Stallings leaves a son, James D. Stallings of Puryear; two stepdaughters, Lisa Carol Odom and Christina Leah Owen, both of Paris; a stepson, Daniel Yoke of Puryear; a sister, Louise Anderson of Paris; a brother, Lawrence E. Stallings of Puryear, a grandchild and three stepgrandchildren.

Melanie Mary Bodine Skinner, 67, of Modesto died Thursday at Doctors Medical Center. Mrs. Skinner was a native of Lamarque, Texas, and had lived in Modesto since 1970. She was a homemaker and a member of the Evangelical Church. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and cooking. She is survived by her husband, Lowell K. Skinner of Modesto; daughter, Danae Skinner of Modesto; brothers, George Chamberlain of Hubbard, Iowa, and Joseph Sivils of Turlock; sisters, Marion DiMario of Las Vegas, Ramona Smith of Del Mesa and Leona Vanderlinde of Bend, Ore., and one grandchild. Private services. Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
