Jim Bodine, 24, of Coalgate AND Mrs. Naoma Tucker, 30, of Coalgate were married 4 Jan 1938 at Atoka by W. H. Summitt, J.P. [She was Naomi Keith, formerly wife of Clarence Tucker whom she had married in 1927.]

Jim Bodine, 23, of Coalgate AND Miss Ruby Gayler, 17, of Coalgate were married 18 Feb 1939 in Atoka by J. T. Means, Pastor of the Presbyterian Church.

RUBY E. BODINE
September 16, 1923- May 12, 2011
Born to James E. and Bessie A. Gaylor in Tisamingo, Oklahoma. Ruby married James A. Bodine in February 1938 and began their family that grew to eight children. They came to Oregon in 1949. Ruby worked at Martin Box and several grocery stores. She was instrumental in the start up of the Retail Clerks Union. Ruby will be best remembered for her services to the community. In 1976, Ruby Founded the Sutherlin Senior Center, where she was President and volunteer. Ruby and friend Beth Applegate Founded the Sutherlin, Oakland Food Pantry where she was President and volunteer until 2009. Ruby was Sutherlin Woman of the Year, Honored as Volunteer Ambassador, a member of RSVP and volunteered for over 30 years. As a daughter, wife, our mother, your friend, Ruby lived her life to help and care for anyone in need. Few will ever use their God given gift to serve as this lady did though she is now gone for a much deserved rest, she will forever remain in our hearts with, respect, gratitude and undying love. Ruby was preceded in death by husband, James A. Bodine in 1998. Ruby is survived by daughter, Margaret Cogdill and husband, Jim; sons, Leroy Bodine and wife, Julie; Gene Bodine; Ron Bodine and wife, Sue; Bill Bodine and wife, Cheryl; Fletcher Bodine and wife, DelRae; Charles Bodine and wife, Bobi, Ricky Bodine and wife, Molly; 18 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. At Ruby's request her ashes were placed at Fair Oaks Cemetery with her husbands, followed by a private ceremony.
