Notes for: William ("Bill") Lloyd Bodine, Sr.

I had his birth place as Blue, OK which is just east of Durant, but the info below says Durant. I think Blue came from the family records but I don't know now. Maybe he was living in Blue but born in Durant. Needs clarifying.

William L. Bodine, 21, of Durant, Bryan County AND Miss Christine M. Ebert, 20, of Bennington, Bryan County, were married 26 Dec 1944 in Durant by W. J. Harris, Minister of the Church of Christ.

Christine (Ebert) Bodine was the daughter of Ben and Lena Ebert.

Christine Norman a longtime resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed from this life on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at the age of 89 years 3 months and 10 days. She was born in O'dell, Oklahoma on Monday, September 1, 1924 to Benjamin and Mattie (Williamson) Ebert. Christine married Oliver Norman in Durant, Oklahoma on April 3, 1965. Christine made her living as a dedicated housekeeper. She lived at 404 East Georgia for many years before moving in with her daughter, Martha. Mrs. Norman is survived by her daughters, Mary Green Hunt of Lone Oak, Texas and Linda Willis of Durant, Oklahoma; son, Billy Bodine and wife Mary of Hugo, Oklahoma; daughters, Martha Canipe and husband Yates of Durant, Oklahoma, Margie Lyday of Durant, Oklahoma and Lori Norman and fiancee Keith Grewing of Durant, Oklahoma. She is also survived by 15 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great, Great Grandchildren. Christine was preceeded in death by husband Oliver Norman in 1976; Former husband Bill Bodine in 1979; grandson, Lonnie Green in 2009; sons-in-law, Charles Hunt 2011 and Lynn Green 2001; parents, Benjamin Ebert 1972 and Bertha Ebert 1966 and Mattie Heavrin 1976. Christine's family would like to take this time to thank Dr. Kevin Gordon for his love and dedication. Honorary pallbearers will be members of her family. Family Hour will be from 7-9:00 PM Friday, December 13, 2013 at the Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. The obituary of James Lewis Loyd, 59, son of Roy Verlon & Opal Jernigan Loyd, names among his survivors his sister Wanda Bodine of Durant. [The death certificate of William Bodine records his residence as 219 S. 12th Street in Durant which was the same address that Wanda Bodine lived at in1993.]

Wanda Bodine, 81, life long resident of Durant, Ok. passed away July 29, 2015. She was transferred to the Nursing Home in McAlester from Oak Ridge Nursing Home in Durant. Memorial services will be at a later date.

Funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Nazarene church for William Lloyd Bodine sr., 55, 219 S. 12, who died early today at the Bonham VA hospital. The Rev. LeRoy Spradling will officiate with burial in Highland Cemetery. He was born on Dec. 15, 1923 at Durant and lived all his life here. A retired taxi operator, Bodine also was an investigator under former district attorney Jack McGahey. Bodine was a member of the Nazarene faith veteran of WW2, member of the DAV and American Legion. He was married in 1967 to the former Wanda Loyd who survives. Also surviving are daughters Mary Lou Green, Greenville, Tex., Linda Christine Willis, Durant, Martha Sue Campe, Gardner, Cal., and Margie Bodine, Durant; sons Billy Bodine and Sam Morales, both of Durant and a sister, Mary Helen Newkirk, Durant. Pallbearers include Mel Moore, Mike Moore, Jack McGahey, Sam Morales, Cecil Kuhn and B. F. Barnhull. The family will be at the Murray Funeral home Monday from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
