The marriage of John and Edith Bodine took place on 11 April 1933 in Mount Vernon, Illinois as stated in his 1989 obituary. Along the way the couple must have divorced as on 19 July 1946 in Las Vegas, Nevada they again married, although John appears as John R. Bodine.

KNOX--Services for John J. Bodine, 80, of 201 Parkview Heights, who died at 11:30 p.m. Sunday in his home after an illness, were today at Braman & Son Memorial Chapel. Burial was in Eagle Creek Cemetery, near Knox. Mr. Bodine was born April, 29, 1909, in Salem, Ill. He had lived in the Knox area since 1957, coming from Illinois. On April 11, 1933, in Mount Vernon, Ill., he married Edith Bolton. She survives with five daughters, Barbara Cain of Northbrook, Ill., Evelyn Sausman of Warsaw, Patricia Richie and Brenda Shepherd, both of Knox, and Lois Mae Turnage of Arkansas; four sons, George of Mount Pleasant, S.C., Bill of Mount Prospect, Ill., David and James, both of Knox; 25 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Crunk of Mount Vernon. A son, John, preceded him in death. Mr. Bodine was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Knox Veterans of Foreign Wars.

KNOX--Services for Edith E. Bodine, 80, of 201 Parkview Heights, who died at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Miller's Merry Manor, Culver, will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Braman and Son Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Eagle Creek Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home. Mrs. Bodine was born Aug. 13, 1914, in Bismarck, N.D., and had lived in Knox for 37 years. She married John J. Bodine. He died Oct. 22, 1989. Surviving are five daughters, Brenda Shepherd of Knox, Barbara Cain of Glenview, Ill., Lois Mae Turnage of Lonoke, Ark., Evelyn Sausaman of Warsaw and Patricia Richie of Bass Lake; four son, James of Bass Lake, George of Jackson, S.C., David of Knox and Bill of Mount Prospect, Ill.; 28 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Yeater of Salem, Ore. A son, John, preceded her in death.
