Ira A. Bodine of Mt. Vernon, Jefferson Co., Ill. AND Ollie B. Wilson of Bonnie, Jefferson Co., ILL. were married 28 June 1909 in St. Louis by John R. Ablett, M.G.
'Ora' and Ollie Bodine were living 1910 in McClellan Township, Jefferson County, as neighbors to Ora's parents. He registered as Ira A. Bodine for the World War I draft on 5 June 1917 in Jefferson County. In 1920-1930, the Bodine family was living in Jefferson County where Ira worked as a laborer for a car manufacturing company. Ira and Ollie Bodine were buried in Bethel Cemetery, Jefferson County.

Mrs. Ollie Belle Bodine, of 1406 south 12th street, died at 10 o'clock Sunday night at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient for the past four days. She was 65 years, ten months and four days of age. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p. m. at Myers Chapel. The Rev. Carl Whittington will officiate and burial will follow in Bethel Memorial cemetery. The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel, where friends may call after 2:00 p. m. Tuesday. Mrs. Bodine was bom September 22, 1893 in Jefferson county, the daughter of Samuel H. and Anna (Shelton) Wilson. She was a lifetime citizen of this county. In 1909 she was married, in St. Louis, to Ira "Dick" Bodine, who survives. Mrs. Bodine was a member of the Second Baptist church. Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Alfred of Needles, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Gale Ballard of Mt. Vernon; two brothers, Henry Wilson of Bonnie and Tandy Wilson of Aurora, Ill.; four sisters, Erie Beckham of Mt. Vernon, Delia McCormack of Benton, Opal Wall of Inyokern, Calif., and Mildrerd Kries of Tucumari, New Mexico; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Ira Alva (Dick) Bodine, of 3406 south 32th street, died at 8:10 a. m. today in Jefferson Memorial Hospital at the age of 76 years, seven months, and 18 days. He was a retired woodworker at the Mt. Vernon Car Company. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p. m. Thursday at Myers Chapel with the Rev. Carl Whittington officiating. Burial will be in Bethel cemetery. The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel where friends may call after 4:00 p. m. Wednesday. Mr. Bodine was bom Feb. 5, 1891, in Jefferson county, the son of John A. and Nancy (Gaunse) Bodine. He was first married to Ollie Wilson, who preceded him in death on July 26, 1959. On June 3, 1960, at Whittington, he was married to Myrtle Potter, who survives. He is also survived by a son, Alfred Bodine of this city; a daughter, Mrs. Leta Brieseacher of Sparta; two step-sons, Lawrence E. Potter of Hinesville, Ga., and Howard Potter of Salem; a brother, Stince Bodine; two half-brothers, Bennie Earl Arnold and Bennie Orval Arnold, all of Mt. Vernon; eight grandchildren; and nine greatgrandchildren. Mr. Bodine was a member of Second Baptist church.

Mrs. Ira (Myrtle Bayles) Bodine, 78 of Salem died 4:10 p.m. Sunday (July 3, 1977) in Salem Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Rogers-Atkins Funeral Home, Salem, followed by a 3 p.m. service at Powers Church, Xenia. Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Powers Church Cemetery, Xenia. Memorials: Grace United Methodist Church, Salem. Mrs. Bodine was born in Xenia, daughter of Austin and Martha Bayles. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, the VFW Auxiliary, the Shamrock Camp of the Royal Neighbors of America, Order of Eastern Star, Rebekah Lodge, Senior Citizens Club, American Legion Auxiliary and the Democrat Women's Club, all in Salem. She married Earl Potter, who died in 1957. She then married Ira Bodine who died in 1967. Surviving are son, Howard Potter of Salem; daughter, Wanda St. Clair of Olney; brothers, D. B. Bayles of Parton; Fred Bayles of Danville; sister, Lillie Whitsell of Mount Vernon; Wretha Curvelier of Hobart, Ind.; Bertha Bartlett of Elgin; seven grandchildren; eight grandchildren. One son and one daughter preceded her in death.
