In 1900, he was recorded as Stinson J. Bodine, living with his parents in Jefferson County. As James Stinson Bodine he registered for the World War I draft on 12 Sept 1918 in Mount Vernon, Jefferson County. He named Geraldine Margaret Bodine as his nearest relative. In 1920, Stinson Bodine was living with his family in McClellan Township, Jefferson County. His wife was recorded only by her ititials, "G. M." In 1930, as Stince J. Bowdine, he was living in McClellan Township with his family. James and Geraldine Bodine were buried in South Hickory Hill Christian Church Cemetery, Jefferson County.
James and Pearl Bodine were divorced and in 1928 Pearl married Glen Henley (1899-1950) with whom she was living in April 1930 in Mount Vernon.
