Notes for: Howard Augustus ("Gustav") Bodine
From Ronny Bodine:
He was Augustus Bodine, age 2 in 1850, age 11 in 1860 and age 22 in 1870 when he was living with his parents in Brooklyn and working as a car driver. He was undoubtedly the Henry A. Bodine, age 30, living in 1880 with his wife Annie, and 2 children, at 262 Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn and whose mother was living nearby at 142 Atlantic Avenue. He stated in 1880 that his mother was born in England, which correctly relates to Myrtilla Bodine. The Brooklyn city directories for 1888-1889 and 1889-1890 also list Howard A. Bodine, employed as an expressman in 1888 and a driver in 1890, as living at 865 Pacific Avenue, the same address as Myrtilla Bodine. In 1900, as Augustus Bodine, age 55, being born in May 1845, he was living at 596 Atlantic Avenue and working as an expressman. Although he cannot be located in the 1910 or 1920 censuses, his death was recorded in Kings County on 4 March 1926 aged 76 years.
