Smith G. Beatty, Jr. and Helen Jane Bodine were married 31 Dec 1919 at the home of the bride's parents Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Bodine, on Gleeves street. Dr. Murray of the Methodist Episcopal church officiated.

Helen Bodine was living April 1910 with her parents in McKean County, Pennsylvania. In Jan 1920, Smith and Hellin Beatty lived in Kane, McLean County in the home of Smith's parents. Smith was employed as a garage mechanic. In April 1930, the couple still lived in Kane, now on their own, and Smith worked as an automobile electrician.

Mrs. S. G. Beatty, the former Helen Jane Bodine, of 112 Madison Avenue, Olean, N.Y., died Tuesday, Dec. 26 at her residence, following a heart attack. She was born May 20, 1893 in Woodbury, N.J., the daughter of William E. and Arrinda Scull Bodine. On Dec. 31, 1919 at Kane, she married S.G. Beatty, who preceded her in death in 1974. Mrs. Beatty had been a resident of Olean since 1936 with prior residence in Kane and Cuba, N.Y. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Olean and was a former deacon of the First Presbyterian Church of Cuba, N.Y. Surviving are a son, Bill Beatty of Olean, N.Y.; two grandchildren; one great-granddaughter and nieces and nephews. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery at a later date.
