Howard Bodine registered for the World War I draft on 9 Sept 1918 in Woodbury, Gloucester County, New Jersey. He gave his occupation as that of a basket maker.

1930 Cumberland Co., NJ: Howard BODINE 29 NJ candy manufacturer, Ruth C. 27 NJ wife, Ruth E. 5 NJ dau. Howard was 1st married at 23 and Ruth as 21, thus for 6 years.

1940 (18 April) Bridgeton, Cumberland Co.: Howard BODINE 39 PA, Ruth 36 NJ wife, Ruth 15 NJ dau, Wilma 10 NJ dau, Evelyn 5 NJ dau.

On 16 Feb 1942, Howard Leonard Bodine of Bridgeton, New Jersey, registered for the World War II Draft. He reported he was born 6 July 1900 in Philadelphia, PA, was self-employed, and named Ruth C. Bodine as his next of kin.

The 1945 & 1947 Bridgeton (NJ) City Directories lists Howard L. and Ruth Bodine living at 19 N. Pearl, also the residence of their daughter Ruth. The Bodine's are manufacturers of Bodine's Pure Ice Cream and Gem O'Jersey Chocolates.

From Marion County, Florida Marriage Records:
Howard Leonard Bodine AND Kolo Kossmo Harrison were married 7 May 1971 at Ocala by Miles K. Womack, Jr., Pastor, First United Methodist Church.

On 11 Aug 2009, the Ocala Star-Banner published a feature article "Kolo Harrison Bodine's 100 years defined by teaching, traveling, quilting". The Forest Corners Quarterly, Marion County, Florida, Oct-Dec 2011: "The First Ladies From of the Forest Red Hat Society Chapter helped one of their members, Kolo Bodine, celebrate her 102nd birthday in August."

Bridgeton--Howard Bodine, 78, of 19 N. Pearl St., the former proprietor of Bodine's Candies, died Thursday in Salem Memorial County Hospital. Mr. Bodine had been in the candy manufacturing business for 50 years and started his business on Marion Street. Before his retirement in 1972, he operated candy shops in Woodbury and Ocean City and was known for his "Gem of Jersey" chocolates. He was an active Methodist layman and a First United Methodist Church of Ocala member. He was a former member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Vineland. He was president of the American Association of Retired Persons in Silver Springs, Fla. He was born in Mickelton. Surviving are his wife, Kolo Dotson Bodine; three daughers, Ruth Albrecht of Chatsworth, Calif., Evelyn Corson of Bridgeton and Billie Beatty of Wenonah; three brothers, the Rev. Carlton Bodine of Vincetown, Frank Bodine of Phoenix, Ariz., and Vernon Bodine of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two sisters, Lillian Ansick of Bridgeton and Emma Edwards of Mantua, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be held 11 a.m. today at the Freitag Funeral Home, with the Rev. Earl R. Heckman of the First Wesleyan Church officiating. Burial will be made in Laural Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday one hour prior to the services. The family suggests contributions may be made to Ranch Hope in Mr. Bodine's memory.

Ocala - Kolo Harrison Bodine, 103, of Ocala, died on February 12, 2013. She was born on August 17, 1909 in Jamboree, KY. She lived in Kentucky and West Virginia until 1953 when she and her family moved to Florida. She was an elementary school teacher for 40 years having taught in West Virginia and Florida. She retired in 1971 from East Marion School in Marion County, Florida, after teaching there for 18 years. She was a 60 year member of First United Methodist Church of Ocala and had been a long time member of the Eutawah Sunday School Class. She was an active member of ADK's Fidelius Chapter, and the Red Hat Society. Following her retirement she became an avid quilter, piecing and hand quilting over 80 beautiful quilts for family and friends. She was a member of the Pine Needles Quilting Club. Her many travels included a visit to every state in the nation and every province in Canada, as well as several countries abroad. She is survived by her children, Charlene Harrison Oliver of Lexington, KY, Frederick (Johanne) Harrison of St. Petersburg, FL, Jimmy (Jana) Harrison, of San Antonio, TX; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A visitation has been scheduled for Saturday February 16, 2013 from 5 - 7 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. The funeral will be on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at 3 p.m. also at the funeral home, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the First United Methodist Church children's music fund, 1126 E Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala, FL 34470 or to Hospice of Marion County, Inc. 3231 SW 34th Ave. Ocala, FL 34474.
