Mrs. Ella V. Barber, 93, formerly of Prospect Park, died Monday at the Widow's and Single Women's Home, Philadelphia, where she had been a guest since 1959. Born in Pottsville, she moved to Prospect Park in 1908. She was a past president of the Women's Civic Club of Prospect Park and chairman of the borough's branch of the American Red Cross for several years. She was a member of the St. James Episcopal Church in Prospect Park. The former Ella Virginia Bodine, she was married to Walter F. Barber who died in 1943. She is survived by two sons, Ralph W. of Springfield; and Edward B. of Prospect Park; three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Oliver H. Blair Funeral Home, 1820 Chestnut St., Philadelphia. Burial will be in Mt. Peace Cemetery, Philadelphia. Calling hours will be Thursday morning at the funeral home.
