Born April 18, 1939, in Smithville, N.J., d/o Charles and Adelaide (Carpenter) Haines. Married Maynard L. Abel on Oct. 30, 1981. He survives.
Other survivors include four sons, Edward Bodine Jr. of California, Robert Bodine of Shelbyville, Oliver Bodine of Brownsville, N.J., and Jerod Bodine of Pemberton, NJ; two daughters, Terri Bongiorno, of Burlington, NJ, and Vicki Brown of Tabernacle, NJ; two stepsons, Brian Abel of Shelbyville and Michael Abel of Wildwood, NJ; two stepdaughters, Tonya Abel and Terri Bodine, both of Shelbyville; two brothers, Charles Haines Jr. of Burlington and Brian Haines of Williamstown, NJ; one sister, Susan Blasi of Mount Holly, NJ; 21 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Lived in Shelbyville since 1989.

Edward (Sonny) Bodine, Sr. of Cherry Hill, died Wednesday, August 22nd at the Samaritan Hospice Unit at Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mount Holly. He was 70. Sonny was born in Mount Holly, the son of the late Oliver and Anna Bada Bodine. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and for most of his life, he was an auto body mechanic and horse trainer and he was a member of the United States Trotting Association. Sonny was a loving father, devoted grandfather and beloved brother. Sonny is survived by his fiancee, Linda Francesconi of Cherry Hill; six children, Edward, Jr. of MO, Terri Bongiorno of Southampton, Vicki Brown of Tabernacle, Robert of Shelbyville, IN, Oliver of Pemberton and Jerod of Browns Mills. He is also survived by three step-daughters, Annemarie, Angela and Annette and by twenty grandchildren, Michael, Edward, Thomas, Anthony, Nicholas, Chas, Seth, Sean, Ryan, Nicole, Jerod, Jr., Jamie, Stormy, Edward III, Charlie, Alysia, Kimmy, Chris, Brianna, Abby and JT and by two great-granddaughters, Kelsey and Gabbie. He was the loving brother of Patty Fahn of Mount Holly, Marianna Beese of Del Co., PA and Kenny Bodine of Browns Mills and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Monday at 11 AM at the PERINCHIEF CHAPELS, 438 High St., Mount Holly. Interment will be in St. Andrew's Graveyard.
